My second entry for the “Win an Eigenharp Alpha” competition. This is also an original composition and is a bit more elaborate than my first entry “A place in the Sun”.
Let me know what you think about it. If you like it, please spread the word. The number of YouTube views are taken into account by the judges 🙂
This is a little song I prepared for the Eigenharp contest, everything was recorded and played live using only the sound provided in the pico without any further processing or effects… this is just a slight overview on what this instrument can do.
If you like it, please make a comment… I will add more videos soon playing other musical styles and using ableton live as host.
Just a simple improvisation while I was warming up, I used only a layered sound of a rhodes piano that comes with the eigend software and edited the video with some image filters.
Soon I will upload a couple of songs that I made with this incredible instrument.
Since Eigenlabs is running a contest to win an Eigenharp Alpha I decided to re-record my initial live song video of the Eigenharp Pico in under 6 minutes (since that’s the limit). I took the opportunity to strip away the intro talk and to add an electric guitar solo at the end.
Hope you like it and please spread the word.

My previous tutorial explained how to record EigenD’s audio output on your computer without having to use an external microphone.
This tutorial goes a step further and shows how you can combine this audio with the video that you captured, using iMovie. Using both these videos, you should be able to capture your Eigenharp performance in the best possible quality.
Using SoundFlower, it’s quite easy to directly record the output of the EigenD software. However, I’ve seen some entries for the ‘Win an Alpha’ competition use an external microphone to record the ambient sound in the room.
This tutorial explains how to set everything up so that you can benefit from perfect sound quality while playing and recording.
From March 24 until March 27, Eigenlabs will be present at the Musikmesse in Frankfurt, Germany. They’ll be presenting their whole range of instruments and you’ll be able to try them out at their booth also.
If you’re interested in seeing musicians in action that have learned the Pico over the course of the last few months, this is a great opportunity to do so. Eigenlabs invited Kayla Kavanagh and me (Geert Bevin) to demo the Pico at their booth.
Kayla will be there for the duration of the whole event, and I will be present on Wednesday the 24th and Thursday the 25th. Note that we’re going over there as volunteers without any financial compensation, we’re in no way being employed by Eigenlabs to do this.
With the recent unstable releases of EigenD, it’s now possible to send commands in Belcanto through the Commander application. Eigenlabs has graciously helped us on the forums to provide the commands for certain configurations and operations. They are also providing an increasing number of factory scripts that can be run directly through the scripts browser.
In order to make it easier for users to understand how to create Belcanto scripts and commands, I’ve started a scripting reference on the community wiki. I’ll try to keep it updated as I discover more about the scripting language and its capabilities.
